Non-degeneracy and uniqueness of periodic solutions for some superlinear beam equations

چکیده

In this work we will use some Sobolev constants to explicitly characterize a class of potentials q(t) ∈ Lp(R/TZ) for which the periodic linear beam equation u(4) = q(t)u is non-degenerate. As an application, we will obtain the uniqueness of periodic solutions of a certain class of superlinear beam equations. © 2008 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

We analyze the non-degeneracy of the linear 2n-order differential equation u(2n) + 2n−1 ∑ m=1 amu = q(t)u with potential q(t) ∈ Lp(R/TZ), by means of new forms of the optimal Sobolev and Wirtinger inequalities.
